Assignment 3

Each morning I manage to drag myself out of bed thanks to the ringing of my alarm right next to my bed. After I try to delay getting up and starting my morning I turn my television on and listen/watch Sportscenter on ESPN until I have finished getting ready. I don't need coffee, bagels, or even the TODAY show to get my morning started, just need sports. I listen to the anchors as they discuss stories about Kobe Bryant, Tom Brady, NY Yankees and even the almighty Gamecocks (2-time national champs) all while I'm brushing my teeth and getting dressed. I tend to sit down and take my time putting my shoes on so that I can watch more highlights and commentary on the previous nights sporting events. If I don't start my day off with a good dose of sports then my day is not off to a good start. Thank God for ESPN.

July 7th - Columbia Art Musuem

Describe- This painting is entitled Buffalo Hunt and it was created the artist Charles Christian Heinrich Nahl. Nahl painted Buffalo Hunt in 1868 and the painting is an oil on canvas. The artwork is a fairly large piece of artwork.

Analyze- The artwork is very descriptive in regards of the facial expressions of the animals and humans in the painting. The colors of the painting are very intense with the colors giving off a war-like vibe. The painting is also very smooth. The painting has a lot of space between the subjects and the skyline. The sky is a very big part of the painting.

Interpret-Buffalo Hunt is a great caption of what a typical hunt would look like for an Indian hunt centuries ago. The facial expressions of the animals and the humans in the painting convey the passion and fear and would be seen during a actual hunt. The credibility of the painting is enhanced by the fact that the color of the painting are dark red/orange giving the impression that the hunt is taking place a dawn.
