1. Describe some of the commonalities of the directors.
Some of the same types of shots are used in each film. The angles and movement are similar in the films. This made more sense to me when in class we talked about how Weir admired Hitchcock and wanted to emulate him.
2. Describe some of the commonalities of the films.
- Cristof is the director of the Truman Show and Jeffries can also be seen as as a director - Cristof directs all of the actors and cameras on the Truman show and Jeffries's cameras are his neighbor's windows.
- Lisa Fremont and Meryl Burbank each do some sort of "advertising" in each film. Meryl does commercials and Lisa models for Jeffries.
- There are fake skies in each film. In class, we talked about how this relates to Thomas Kinkade's paintings and the view of the creator.
3. Discuss voyeurism.
-The audience watches the film
-The characters watch each other
-The camera records everything
